Here Is My Professional Biography
As a mental health counselor and a consultant, I am skilled in problem
solving through psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, teaching, counseling
and, most importantly, through listening and understanding.
I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and my
Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston
where I graduated with honors (Cum Laude). As a member of two
national honor societies and a published author, I am often sought
after as a public speaker to address professional organizations, service
organizations, church groups and other organizations to speak about
personal growth. I have also taught on the university level.
I have been given an honor that is earned by only the very few in my
field. I was awarded the highly respected Certified Clinical Mental
Health Counselor designation. The CCMHC is granted by the National
Board of Certified Counselors only after an extremely rigorous and
stringent certification process. It is considered by many to be the most
important and valued certification in my field.
I trained in hypnotherapy with Associate Trainers in Clinical Hypnosis,
a highly regarded training facility which teaches Ericksonian Hypno-
therapy. I am certified by the National Society of Hypnotherapists both
as a hypnotherapist and as a trainer in hypnotherapy. I am also
certified by the National Guild of Hypnotherapists.
I am also licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional
Counselor. This point is particularly important as you may come across
un-licensed hypnotists who will tell you that there is no licensing of
hypnotherapists. And, although it is true that no states license
hypnotherapy as a separate profession or practice, many states,
including Texas, have regulations which indicate that anyone practicing
hypnotherapy is required to be licensed.
My license means that I have obtained the education, training and
supervised experience that the state and other professionals in my field
believe to be necessary in order to be a competent practitioner. And, of
course, it also means that I successfully passed the state exam for
licensure.
I currently have more than 25 years of clinical experience performing
and teaching hypnotherapy as well as doing psychotherapy and
counseling. My office has been in the same location for more than 22
years. And I have now hypnotized more than 27,000 people, many of
them in the large group seminars that I used to conduct in cities all
across the nation.
Lastly, I have experience both in business management and as a
management consultant. And I have been honored by being included in
“Who’s Who in the South & Southwest,” “Who’s Who of Emerging
Leaders in America” and “Who’s Who in the World.”
